Complete Rebar Weight & Size Table to SNI 2052 (Plain & Deformed)

Reinforcing bar (rebar) is the primary reinforcement in concrete structures — foundations, columns, beams, and floor slabs. To estimate quantities and cost, you need the rebar weight per length and the diameters that conform to the Indonesian standard SNI 2052.

Plain vs deformed rebar

  • Plain bar (BjTP) — smooth surface, written with a P code (e.g. P10 = Ø10 mm plain). Typically used for stirrups and light reinforcement.
  • Deformed bar (BjTS) — ribbed surface for stronger bond with concrete, written with a D code (e.g. D13 = Ø13 mm deformed). Used for primary structural reinforcement.

Rebar weight table (SNI 2052)

Nominal weight per metre and per standard 12 m length:

Ø (mm)Plain / DeformedWeight (kg/m)Weight / 12 m (kg)
6P / D0.2222.664
8P / D0.3954.74
10P / D0.6177.404
12P0.88810.656
13D1.04212.504
14P1.20814.496
16P / D1.57818.936
19P / D2.22626.712
22P / D2.98435.808
25P / D3.85346.236
28P4.83458.008
29D5.18562.22
32P / D6.31375.756
36P / D7.99095.88
40P / D9.865118.38
50P / D15.413184.956

Example: a D16 deformed bar = 1.578 kg/m × 12 m = 18.9 kg per length.

The weights above follow the formula 0.006165 × d² (kg/m, d in mm), matching the nominal weight in SNI 2052.

SNI 2052 grade colour codes

Mills mark the bar ends with a colour by grade (yield strength):

  • BjTP 280 — black (plain)
  • BjTS 420B — red
  • BjTS 520 — green
  • BjTS 550 — white
  • BjTS 700 — blue

Estimating your rebar quantity

For a quick estimate, multiply the total bar length for each diameter by the kg/m column, then divide by 12 m for the number of bars. Or use our steel weight calculator.
